The
Second Kendriya
Vidyalaya Sangathan
Guwahati Regional
Art Exhibition 2006
is underway with
a six-day programme
at the Srimanta
Sankaradeva Kalakshetra
Guwahati from 23rd
January 2007 to
28th January 2007.
This Annual feature
under the auspices
of the Kendriya
Vidyalaya Sangathan
Guwahati Region
is being hosted
by Kendriya Vidyalaya
NF Rly Maligaon
this year.
Kendriya Vidyalayas
are run under the
Ministry of Human
Resource & Development
Government of India
by Kendriya Vidyalaya
Sangathan an autonomous
body and spread
over the country
as well as in Nepal,
Moscow and Tehran.
The KVS Guwahati
Region presently
has forty Kendriya
Vidyalayas spread
in Arunachal Pradesh,
Meghalaya &
Assam. All the Vidyalayas
are expected to
participate in the
Exhibition. Three
selected entries
by the students
from all the Vidyalayas
have been collected
to comprise the
final presentation.
Art teachers from
different Vidyalayas
are also participating
in the Exhibition,
motivating the children
by sharing a common
platform along with
the talented tender
minds.
The exhibition was
initiated under
the guidance of
Shri U.N.Khawarey, Assistant Commissioner
KVS Guwahati Region
last year as a culmination
of an Art Teacher's
workshop and was
held at the same
venue.
The judging session
was held in the
Resource room of
K.V. NF Rly. Maligaon
on 7th January
2007 from 10
A.M.
Shri Maniyappan
P.P. Principal
K.V.NF Rly Maligaon
welcomed the judges
with the traditional
custom of 'phulam
gamosha' and also
spoke about the
objectives of the
Exhibition. Like
the last year this
year too there will
be ten awards for
best entries by
the students. The
judges Shri Jnanendra
Barkakati an
eminent Artist &
Dr.(Smt) Nilima
Thakuria (Haque) an eminent poet
& artist, selected
ten best entries.
The award winners
will be awarded
on the inaugural
function on 23rd
January 2007 with
a Merit Certificate
& a memento.
The memento in brass
& acrylic is
a specially designed
for this occasion
by Shri Anutosh

Associate Coordinator
of the Exhibition
was also present
at the judging.
About 120 exhibits
comprising of paintings
in different medium,
collage, graphics,
photography &
terracotta shall
form part of the
exhibition.
