MICROSOFT PROJECT SHIKSHA TRAINING:23 AUGUST to 01 SEPTEMBER 2007
The Microsoft Project Shiksha Training programme in computer applications in school environment was inaugurated by Mr.N.R.Murali, Education Officer KVS Guwahati Region on 23th August 2007 at 2.30 P.M. in the Resource room of Kendriya Vidyalaya NF Railway Maligaon, Guwahati.
The guests were welcomed in the traditional customs of this region offering the ‘phulam gamosha’ and a bouquet, by Mr. Maniyappan P.P. Principal of the venue Vidyalaya.
Addressing the guests, Teachers and staff of the Vidyalaya Mr. Maniyappan P.P. stressed the need of such computer training programmes initiated by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan.
Miss Swati Kundu, trainer from Microsoft gave a brief outline of the programme.
Inaugurating the Training programme Mr.Murali said “Resources are provided by the Sangathan and training programmes in ICT are organized to keep the teachers updated of the latest trends in the field of ICT and also for personality development for effective use of computers for creating teaching learning materials”.
64 Teaching and Non Teaching Staff of the Vidyalaya participated in the Training programme.
The inaugural programme was presented by Mr. Anutosh Deb, Art Teacher of the Vidyalaya.
The training programme started with a presentation on the LCD by the Trainers from Microsoft. Study materials from Microsoft were distributed to the participants and details of the programme. |

The
Technology Leadership
Workshop for Principals
of KVS Guwahati
Region was inaugurated
in the newly renovated
resource room of
Kendriya Vidyalaya
Maligaon on 06.11.2006.
Shri Sushant Jha

Commissioner KVS
Guwahati Region
along with Eduction
Officers Shri N.R.Murali
and Shri R.T.Borkar
were present in
the inaugural function.

is a lot of adaptability

such workshops,

all the participants
to equip themselves

aspect for the betterment
of the Vidyalayas
under them.

The role of technology
is developing 21st
century skills were
discussed where
in every participants
felt that technology
as a whole develops
strongly 21st century
skills among the
students.
The most important
part of the discussion
was the role of
principals in technology
integration. A school
Principal is the
most powerful and
pivotal force behind
educated change.
His involvement
at all levels of
technology planning
and implementation
is crucial.
The participants
felt that appropriate
is to be provided
and the principal
himself has to use
the technology in
the school so that
the teachers also
use the technology
effectively. Also
the teachers were
to be given time
to develop the lessons
using technology.
It was also felt
computer instructor
were to help the
teachers in preparing
the lessons. In
promoting technology
integration in the
teaching and learning
process to enhance
student learning.
The principal should
see that a computer
is provided in each
class room and should
over see that there
is continuous power
supply. The principal
has to see that
software is feeing
used and there should
be information about
copyright.
The workshop had
its continuation
apart from the practical
acquaintance with
the operating systems
of office documents
worksheets and presentation.
The workshop created
in the minds of
the participant
principals a set
standard which should
make them to develop
21st century learning
environment in their
schools.
All the participants
left the workshop
not only stuffed
with received amount
of knowledge but
also a feeling that
every now and then,
one programme or
the other should
be planned for their
enrichment in day
to day changes of
technology.
The participants
gained lot about
IT world & 'TAL'
and skillful learning
of 21st century
skill which are
very essential today's
students otherwise
future will be break.
Some of the participants
were not much acquainted
with the 'TAL' but
how we are well
learned and equipped
with up dated knowledge.
Introduction to
internet E-mail,
opening of E-mail,
learning enrichment
of the 21st century
etc.
Shri Anutosh Deb,
Art Teacher of K.V.
Maligaon discussed
about the different
operating systems
and license of Windows
and other software.
He also gave valuable
information on updating
the Vidyalaya websites
and working on project
think.com.
The role of principal
in using technology
in the school's
administrative process
was also discussed.
Shri D.Manivannan,
Education Officer
KVS Guwahati Region
suggested measures
to be taken to make
good use of the
computer labs and
computer aided teaching
among the Teachers.
The discussion was
very useful.
The last day of
the workshop was
an enthralling experience
for the participants
for they had been
allowed to enhance
their knowledge
with regard to deferent
aspects of Internet,
E-mail sending,
receiving and online
thinking tools.
Finally the principals
were learned to
use the computer
in preparing the
performance record
with help of result
record. |
