Life on the Strings, a thinkquest website submitted for thinkquest International 2009 was nominated to the thinkquest library 2009. The team comprised of Ms.Anurekha Deb, Miss Arjal Jyoti of Class IX K.V.NFR maligaon alongwith students from K.V. Malleswaram and ICS Palombara Sabina, Rome Italy. The team was coached by Ms.Zeenat F Rashid and Mr Anutosh Deb.
'Fiesta Indo-Italiana' an entry to the ThinkQuest International Narrative Competition 2009 collaborated by Kendriya Vidyalaya NFR Maligaon, Guwahati and ICS Palombara Sabina has been adjudged as 'FINALIST' and is in the Think Quest Library. participate in the Regional 21st Century Learning Institute at Nanyang Executive Centre of Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.This institute brings together teachers and administrators
of schools and school districts from APAC countries. The essential
purpose is to facilitate PBL (Project Based Learning) that facilitates the
development of 21 Century Skills, mobilizing the full power of

The project 'Fresh & Foul' lead by Ms Zeenat F.Rashid, Primary Teacher Kendriya Vidyalaya NFR Maligaon, Guwahati was declared winner of the Student Space Scientist Programme Level 2 Group 2. Earlier on 21 June 2008 the team was short listed for the tele interaction with Scientists from ISRO and judges. Miss Spandita Sharma, Miss Sumita Sarkar, Miss Arjal Jyoti and Miss Barnali Chakraborty form the team members. This is the only team selected in this group from Eastern India

Think.com INDIA CONTEST 2007:
The India contest was launched for teachers and students registered on think.com. To encourage meaningful and effective integration of think.com in the school curriculum and provide a broad framework for designing think.com sites, increase the number of active users, provide a platform for sharing and networking among teachers, recognize and reward teachers and students who are doing outstanding work on think.com. This year about 200 teachers from different Kendriya Vidyalayas spread all over the country and abroad alongwith teachers of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya and some private schools registered in this contest.
Websites of 27 teachers evaluated on merit, was placed in different categories. Winners: 06, Excellence in Performance: 03 and Special Mention: 18
The websites of two teachers from Kendriya Vidyalaya NF Railway Maligaon were placed in different categories in the result declared on 20 April 2007.

Bangalore Association for Science
Education (BASE) is hosting
SCIENCE OUTREACH MONTH from
5th to 28th February, 2007 to
celebrate National Science Day
on 28 February, 2007. As a part
of this celebration, Dr K. Kasturirangan,
world-renowned space scientist
and Member of Parliament interacted
on February 09.02.07 at 10.45
am on the theme "Achievements
and Aspirations of Space Science"
About
300 students, teachers and media
all across India participated
in an online interaction with
Dr K. Kasturirangan the leading
scientist behind INSAT, IRS,
PSLV & GSLV., through think.com.
Think.com is a global program
providing online learning tools
to students in many countries.
The Oracle Education Foundation
is a California non-profit organization
that owns and operates Think.com. The
online interaction was organised
by Oracle Think.com and Bangalore
Association for Science Education.
The participants in the studio
were drawn from KVs No 1 Jalahalli,
Hebbal & IISc , JNV and
BGSNPS.Dr
Kasturirangan told the audience
that he drew his inspiration
from the young students of India.Kendriya
Vidyalaya NF Railway Maligaon
was the only school selected from Eastern India to participate
in the interaction with the
scientist as one of the five
centre. The other being Kendriya
Vidyalaya at Jaipur, Gandhinagar,
Ujjain and the host BASE Bangalore.

programme at K.V.NF Railway
Maligaon Guwahati was inaugurated

the guests. Shri Anutosh Deb,
Art Teacher of the Vidyalaya
and coordinator of the programme
at Guwahati gave a brief outline
of the programme. The session
was attended by representatives
of Cabsford Media and other
journalists. There
was an online session were every
one participated by posting
questions to Dr.K. Kasturirangan
were the lucky ones also got
answers to their questions.
The next session was a phone
in programme exclusively for
the media. The phone in programme
was mediated by Shri Maniyappan
P.P., Principal of the Vidyalaya.
It
was a real time experience for
K.V.NF Maligaon Pariwar. Shri
Arun Sharma PGT Economics delivered
the vote of thanks.
